Random Thoughts on Basketball

The Team

"The Reason Why I Follow the Magic."

Coming form Missouri, I should be following the Hawks or Kings based on the history of the NBA in this great state. After the four team expansion in 1989, my interest in the NBA started. I needed a team and why not pick one of the expansion teams. I had just started playing basketball in my grade school league and was horrible. I was the short kid who tried very hard, but never had any skill.

The Orlando Magic kind of remind me of myself. Their history has been full of trying to get to the next level. Some of the consequences of these efforts are making many bad trades or losing many star players, Shaq, Wallace, and T-mac. It has been a roller-coaster ride following the Magic.

It is great to see that they have finally made it back to the Finals again, but I wonder how long will this last. Will Dwight get upset and leave like many before? I know every Orlando fan is thinking this thought in the back of their mind. The ride will start again, but it is fun to watch. I can only hope for a win for the Magic, so Howard stays a little longer. Go Magic.
