That is Munchak in that one..I have to run pick up the boy from school, I;ll be back for more later.
I really didn't see Tippett play. The Pats were bad and not on TV too often. Tippett was really good. Unfortunately he played the same time as the "ONLY" L.T., Lawrence Taylor so he was kind of over shadowed by him.
Just by looking at his stats they aren't too impressive. I always thought Bruce Smith was a bit over shadowed by LT and R.White.
I always thought Bruce Smith was a bit over shadowed by LT and R.White. Bruce Smith came in towards the end of Randy White's career. Now Smith and Reggie White came in around the same time, though Reggie played one year or two, I can't remember, in the USFL.
Reggie seemed to get more attention than Smith, but both were all-time greats.
Why did Eddie George decline so quickly? It seemed like he lost a step over night. I thought he would of played at least a few more years after leaving the Titans.
That guy took a beating, but also delivered his fair share and you know Jeff Fisher he is going to try and pound the ball, old school style, as much as posible. If I remeber right it started with his last season with the Titans and I thought well maybe behind a better O-Line in Dallas he might rejuvinate, but it never happened. Off the point, but I remember Fisher telling a story about a kid who had won a contest to attend a Titans practice and eddie george came out of tunnel with a sleevless under armour shirt on and Fisher said the kid's eyes got big as saucers and was blown away at the size of the guy. Fisher told the kid "Thats a Man Right There" and my workhorse
Why did Eddie George decline so quickly? It seemed like he lost a step over night. I thought he would of played at least a few more years after leaving the Titans. Eddie George was a **** of a back. I think Fisher just pounded him way too much, kind of like Bum Phillips did with Earl Campbell
Makes sense, they counted on him as much as they did Campbell back in the day. I think you are right about the Cowboys and a better OL, but that OL wasn't to good in 04. Jones did well just b/c he was fast. If the OL played better he would have performed better. George did have a tremendous build, especially for a taller RB.
I love you're avatar, hazeofgreen
Georges TD run in the Super Bowl was tough. He trucked and carried the DL.
The Tennesse Super Bowl vs the Rams was one heck of a game. George's run was very tough. I repected him as a RB as he didn't fumble either. Dickerson on the other hand fumbled every other time he got the ball
Where's everyone from? San Antonio, Texas for me. It's already HOT here.
NE OH, about an hour from downtown Cleveland and the HOF. I'm in the middle of both.
NE OH, about an hour from downtown Cleveland and the HOF. I'm in the middle of both. You're lucky....Christy and I want to go to Canton really bad.
I wish I went there more often. I haven't visted since 96 which is sad b/c I went to college about 5 min away from the Hall. We played our games at Fawcett (the field where they play the HOF game).
I am from Houston, born and raised. I now live in Deer Park,Tx which is just a suburb of Houston, so you guys will have to pardon me when I go off on the Texans and Oilers tangents...Compairing Earl to George was exactly my thoughts on that...Run Him into the ground..One time Bum was asked, Do you ever get concerned with how slow Earl gets up after every run and Bum replied "NO, he goes down real slow too"..So, that gives you some idea of the mentality they had....I am going to visit Canton soon!
Where's everyone from? San Antonio, Texas for me. It's already HOT here. No kidding, come on down here to Houston and get some of this humidity to go with it!
It's only 54 degress here w/ a high of 60 w/ rain. Very different.lol
Alfordron, do you remember R. Childress? I used to work w/ a guy who had his career ended by him. The guy I was working with was on the Chiefs preseason as a FB and went to block Childress and he suffered a detached retina as a result of the collision.
