i'll be honest not sure how well that myers would sell for now. maybe would go for $80 to $100, and that's with the grading. but i like your idea, trade the 9's, sell the 9.5's.
okay, fixed my pics, much better...
man the kadri ended at $52. anyways I'm hoping to get back my BGS cards soon so I can post at least one more gold for this group.
Did you send in your own submission?
no it was the submission thru Denj91 who went to the card show.
oh yeah, another one added!
sweet! skinner spa fw auto gem mint! holy that auto is clean!
Yeah that's some nice ones up there :) GJ on the Skinner/Tavares.
Any chance you guys have seen any 10-11 SPx Finite Rookies around that are 9.5 and available? Well, any besides Paajarvi, Schenn and Fowler that is :P
Also, I'm a little late to the show here, but SGC currently has a deal on for $4/card for 1980s-Present cards. Gonna send off a pretty large submission I think, and see how it goes.
nah sorry man, haven't been looking for any SPx Finite. Is SGC any good? what's different about them from BGS?
https://www.sportscardforum.com/blog.php?b=1289 - The list of what I submitted to SGC.
I honestly can't really say if SGC is good or not, that's half the reason in checking them out with this submission :P Their holders look really nice, but the labels look fairly "ghetto" like PSA's labels. To the best of my knowledge SGC doesn't really seem to care about AUs either, I asked a few questions on their forums but I didn't really get the direct answer I was looking for. They *authenticate* pack-pulled autos but all the AU card pics that were linked to be were auth'd by JSA. So I don't know if that means you need to ask for it by special request or if it would cost $20 per auto, (JSA is expensive) it damn well better not.
They also use a different scale that is out of 100, but has a more common (BGS) equivalent. So what I'm aiming for is to get these 34 done cheaply ($4/card, 20 day turnaround) with a minimum slab requirement of 96 (BGS 9.0 equivalent). Then take those that come back as 98+ and send them to BGS for a crossover. What this boils down to is that it should cost me $14.50 (plus a fraction of the shipping charge divided amongst cards) per BGS 9.5+ by the time it is all said and done. If they aren't good enough to be BGS 9.5s then the price gets cheaper as I avoid reslabbing fees etc.
Basically, I am using SGC as a buffer/"pre-inspection" similar to how most people probably use BGS Raw.
interesting. but wondering would the shipping costs kill you in the end? but then again, at least you would know what you're sending when you eventually 'resubmit' to bgs, knowing you're sending in the gem mints. but man sounds like an expensive experiment! hope it works out.
so how did the SGC experiment go?
Just got it back today actually, currently writing up the results and whatnot on my blog here, I'll link it here once it's been posted along with pics of my 98s. Needless to say I won't be using SGC again. Very nice Crosby YG btw, how'd you come by that?
Unfortunately, I wasn't saving the progress of my write-up and just had it active in my browser, and of course the browser crashed for the first time in several months so I lost every bit of the write-up. I'll just get the results/pics up tonight or early tomorrow and get to the opinion part of it later.
My results from SGC.
