Syracuse, N.Y. -- The tone of a Syracuse Blazers' U-16 practice at the Lysander Arena on a recent Sunday morning was a reasonable facsimile of such winter workouts across the country.

Head coach Nick Zappia and his cousins, brothers Matt and Joe Wilson, instructed eager young players in the nuances of the sport. The players are both talented and good listeners -- the Blazers have qualified for next month's state competition.
