    indyreds success thread

I have never started my own success thread and getting back into this hobby I wanted to give it a shot. I have been away from the hobby for awhile. In the last few years I have done a few letters here and there and picked up some nice additions to the collection like Jimmy Jackson and Eddie George. Last week I sent out six letters and dropped another six out today. I am thinking that I will try to keep a five or six letter a week goal and not go crazy like I did at one time and drop 50-200 requests out once a month. I also did send a few email requests out last week and those were my first successes of 2018.

Geno Auriemma - sent a signed 8x10 scorecard

Katarina Witt - sent 2 different small signed photos

Just a few weeks back and I already did what I said I would not do. Twenty letters out yesterday and all to music stars. Picked up some proset music cards and a set of the classic country music cards and with the help of the TTMM I will look forward to adding to a very thin area in my collection. Thanks to all those who added those addresses and I will let you know who comes back!

Welcome home, Indy! I'm laughing at your "I'm not gonna do anything crazy, whoops! There's a 20 person mega-mail!" I do that often. I find that I go in spurts. It really jsut depends on what I have going on in life. Glad to see you're back at it though!

Thanks all! I know that 20 does not sound like a lot considering I used to drop 200 letter to Spring Training this time of year, but I do plan on going slow this time to avoid burn out. Then again it is hard to get excited about mail until the returns start coming in. Speaking of that two nice ones came in today:

Tim Allen 2/2 one on a Home Improvement cast card and the other on one of those Famous signature generic custom cards
Bob Cousy 1/1 on a 2001 Fleer Holy Cross card

Best of luck to all on your mailings and thanks for the kind words!

Roy Clark 2/2 on Country Gold Cards

Three more rolled in and it looks like there is some luck to be had with music TTM's!

Tony Bennett 1/1 on a famous signatures edition custom card
Lee Greenwood 1/1 signed back of a Country Classics card
Hank Williams Jr. 3/3 on Country Classics cards

Thanks for looking and I hope your mailboxes are full!
