Jeff- Sale value is what the cards sell for. Book Value is what the price guides list as their value. If I were selling or buying cards I would be interested in Sale Value. However, I generally trade. When I trade, I go by Book Value.
Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

I'm well aware of what both are and the worth of both.
Like I said, why would someone give you $200 in either trade, sale, or book value, when they can easily go on line and buy it for half or less than half of your/that price? Take your Tim Duncan graded 9.5 BGS for example. You went on and on about how it was "worth $200 via book", then I posted 4-5 links of that exact card and condition, that sold for less than half that. So AGAIN, that negates the "book value of $200" you kept mentioning, as no ones paying that or even close to that for that card in particular, and why would they pay full price, when they know they can get it for cheaper? That's pretty foolish money wise. You certainly wouldn't pay book for something if you can get it for half or less than half the price, so why expect someone else to do what YOU yourself wouldn't do?
You're a good guy man, but as I've said earlier, the "book value" isn't gospel and it isn't Standard, most dealers don't even go by it knowng they can't get full book for anything. Maybe in a perfect world perhaps, but not now.
It's just a suggestion, it's not permanent. Beckett may have one price, and PSA another, so which one is correct? Neither, as it's a starting point or suggestion, but again, good luck getting exact book for that stuff.
PS, I'll Pass on the Trammell 6 RC, as "according to book"(and PSAs site which that's graded?), it's only worth about $6 bucks and according to PSAs site, they've sold for between $6-$10 bucks, so I couldn't expect say $20-$30 in trade value for it, if it's not even selling for half that, 1 Kaline alone is worth that. 1 for 1? I'd trade you the '67 Kaline graded BL for it and you'd still be short about 4 bucks on your end technically.Last edited by McMahonFan; 04-09-2018 at 11:35 AM.
