Bluegrass World Series: A Rick Ankiel Story

    Interesting article on Rick Ankiel

Amid this whirlwind of guys and vaguely creaky baseballing and the hooting whalesong of Nick Swisher bro-ing it down hardcore in the dugout, it was easy to miss Rick Ankiel taking the mound for the first time since 2004, and comparatively easy to dismiss him throwing some high-80s fastballs—heat by Bluegrass World Series standards, but mere warmth by the prevailing standards in big-league bullpen—by a Hattiesburg Black Sox opponent for an inning-ending strikeout.

I didn't read THIS article about Rick, but I read another one talking about how he is "toying with the idea" of making a comeback on the mound.

I love Rick. I wish him the best... I really do. But I don't see this happening. I hope he proves me wrong.
