Fantasy hockey this year
My thoughts regarding fantasy hockey this year (assuming it's part of the season long contest).
Enforce the 3 games minimum the entire season. If that means there are more ties in week one so be it.
Player categories
Goals, Assists, +/-, Faceoffs Won, Shots on Goal, Hits, Blocked Shots, Special Teams Points (with the league kicking more centers last year faceoffs won is no longer about just centers)
Goalie Categories
Wins, Losses, Goals Against, Minutes played, OTL, Shutouts, SV% (if you want to make goalies less important in the overall score each week I'd drop shutouts and OTL)

Thank you for the feedback - some of the categories for scoring may or may not be actually available. I don't think there's much need for a couple you have suggested (i.e. goalie minutes and faceoffs) and there is only so much we can do on enforcement.
We will be looking to get some solicitations for participation probably in the next couple of days.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

Everything I mentioned is available via ESPN league settings. At the start of the season the 3 goals minimum was announced, but I was told (halfway through the season after I lost all goalie categories against someone who got 1 shutout and didn't have another game played by a goalie) that it was removed to accommodate the first week only having a couple games. ESPN does have the option to enforce a minimum number of games for goalie stats to count. My thought on faceoffs was to give a positive target instead of PIM which is actually bad for the team.

Yes it does and I've got that set up (tentatively) for a minimum 2 starts per week. But will be discussing with the team who will be helping me run the other "conferences" before making final announcement.
