Exclamation Topps and MLBPA Renew Global Baseball Card Agreement

Topps and the MLB Players Association are sticking together for baseball cards. The two announced they are extending their global partnership.

The card maker’s involvement with the players pre-dates the formation of the MLBPA in 1966. Topps worked with the players as a group starting in 1950s when they started producing full baseball card sets.

Over the decades, that relationship has continued to evolve and showcasing players on cards in different ways.

“Extending our partnership with the MLBPA is vital for our player relationships and we are excited to continue to strive for breakthrough initiatives to execute together,” said David Leiner, Topps Global Vice President and General Manager of Sports & Entertainment via press release.

“Through its innovative trading cards and products, Topps has promoted Major League Baseball players in original ways giving a wide range of athletes the spotlight,” said Evan Kaplan, Director of Licensing and Business Development for the MLBPA.
