    Barry Bonds vs Duke Snider

Who had more pure power? Lets say they competed in an home run derby, Barry Bonds *circa 2001* vs Duke Snider *circa 1956* Who wins? Who has a higher average distance?

Why do you want to question the power of those two? It would be very hard to answer, since Bonds "took' some "drugs" that helped greatly in hitting home runs. To my knowledge, the "Duke' didn't do as such. The "Duke" dominated the N L in the 1950's in HR's without the "help" that Bonds had in the last half of his career. Also, the pitching in the 1950's was much better than what Bonds faced in his career.

Both hitters are supremely skilled, of course, but it seems like Bonds had his swing more down to a science and repeatable technique, which is good for the home run derby. That being said, I still don't know who I'd choose.
