    2019 Topps AAF

Topps is back making football cards. And, no, it’s not the NFL. 2019 Topps Alliance of American Football cards kick off a new league and a new license.

The debut set, which is available at both hobby and retail levels, comes with a 200-card base set. Some of the names include recent NFL players like Aaron Murray, Christian Hackenberg and Josh Johnson.Coaches are also part of the checklist. That means collectors can find new cards of Mike Singletary and Steve Spurrier, among others.

Interesting that Topps would bid on the NFL license but will make these cards. I can't imagine that they will be a big hit with collectors but I'm glad that Topps is making more cards. Would prefer Upper Deck but I'll take Topps too.

I bought a couple of boxes of these from Target. Although these cards will never be worth anything they would be real nice for IP and TTM autographs assuming that the ballplayer would want to sign them considering everything that went down with this league. I'm going to save my Aaron Muarry cards for the SEC fan fest when it comes to Atlanta at the end of the year and I will see if he wants to sign them. Wish me luck.

What's the real draw here? Nostalgia for college players or Hope's that someone actually makes the league?
