Short Report: Panini America Starts Sharing SPs, SSPs in 2018 Contenders Football
Panini America’s ballyhooed 2018 Contenders Football arrived in hobby shops across North America roughly one month ago to a ready-and-waiting collector base that has spent the 30 days or so in a wrapper-ripping, Rookie Ticket-revealing frenzy. That’s certain to continue in the weeks ahead as the many Contenders completists work on building their sets, with one eye always on the set’s various variations and short prints.
Today, we’re going to devote some attention to clarifying or demystifying some of the set’s SP and SSP mysteries. The initial list below details some of the SPs and SSPs featured in 2018 Contenders Football’s Rookie Tickets, Rookie Ticket Variations (horizontal) and Veteran Tickets. For 2017 Contenders Football, an SP indicates cards with a print run of 250 or less; an SSP indicates cards with a print run of 100 or less. Enjoy the initial list and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

Thanks for the update on this, I appreciate actual print runs being announced on short print cards. Having said that....
Ballyhoo, noun.
1. A noise attention-getting demonstration or talk
2. Flamboyant, exaggerated, or sensational promotion or publicity
3. Excited commotion
My favorite synonyms: blather, bluster, hoopla, hullabaloo, kerfuffle
AKA 6 product releases ago.
LITERALLY said "roughly one month ago", then defines it with "30 days or so" IN THE SAME SENTENCE!
It's like Black Friday at Walmart but with football cards.
Of course, buying boxes of cards is always more efficient than picking up singles off of ebay, comc, sportlots, beckett marketplace, trading websites, and local card shops.
I work for a large printing company and I know it can be so mysterious figuring out print runs. Sometimes press operators just randomly shut off machines and cut production short. Other times we just double run jobs for the hell of it. SUCH A MYSTERY!
"initial list", "details some". Sounds like we still have a much ballyhooed mystery on our hands!
Typo on the year or providing meaningless information given the context of the blog post detailing 2018 Contenders. The mystery deepens.
How can I when the demystification process has not completed yet?! Additional findings might upend everything we thought we knew about football cards in the 21st century!
Can't trust TKL, they are part of the mainstream media. I'll wait to see Mueller's report shows about Italian's hacking the Contenders checklist to deliberately short print cards
