WTTF: Kolten Wong and all modern-day all-stars

    Hi all!

Thought I'd see if there are any interested in trading away Kolten Wong or modern-day all-star cards for various 1984-1991 stuff that's been sitting in my closets. Not much value, but maybe you're interested in completing some sets, or just helping out spreading the love of the game to some young kids.

I've recently just started here working on completing some early/mid-70s sets I had sitting in storage and will continue. That's about all I'm interested in for my personal collecting. I coach youth baseball ages 5-14 here in Hawaii and have been giving the kids the few modern cards I have, here and there. There is only one card shop remaining in town and with no pro team in town, interest in baseball cards is rather minimal and supply is not plentiful. But the kids I coach love them. So I'm looking for high volume, low value Hawaii stars and recognizable all-stars I can give away freely. I've given away all the Shane Victorinos, Sid Fernandezes, Kurt Suzukis, Kolten Wongs, and Ichiros I've come across, in addition to all-stars. Kolten Wong and Isiah Kiner-
Falefa are the most relatable for the youngsters, modern and small in body build, so have become the overall favorite and first choice. Then come Ohtani and all-stars, with a few interested in Kenta Maeda, Kurt Suzuki, Kirby Yates, Kila Kaahue, Kean Wong...(mainly because the parents of the kids remember them from local schools). I really don't want anything a true collector might want to hold on to, as I don't want any of the kids to be jealous of what the others get and want to have them trade freely.

I have storage boxes of 84-91Donruss/Topps/Fleer/Leaf/Score/UpperDeck, and 90-91 basketball/football. I also have leftover 73,74,75,76Topps I can trade if you're interested. All stuff the young kids don't want. Although I will probably pull a few HOF's as I pull some boxes out, for the older boys who have actually heard of some of these 80's/90's "old timers"(Kids already think of guys in the 2000's as "legends")! Please let me know if you can help out.

    Mahalo,

    Al

Thx to Joe, Jeff, Dave, and Mark I've got a good supply of Sid Fernandez's to last for several seasons! Even though he's long gone, he's a local legend - went to high school in the area and coached in our league for a couple seasons. Still interested in modern-day stars I can give away to the kids to pique their interest in the game. Please let me know if I have anything you would trade for.

    Thx Joe,
Sent off your other cards yesterday. I remember Joey Meyer, actually caught a foul ball of his during spring training back in the late 80’s. Didn’t mention him, cuz most of the parents of the kids I coach weren’t even born yet when he played. Same for Sid F, except he’s a local legend and even coached in our league for a couple of seasons.

I have boxes of 84/89/90 Fleer, 85/86/87/88/89/90 Donruss, 86/87/88-90? Topps, 89/90/91 Score, 90 Leaf, 90-91 UpperDeck. Basketball 90/91 Fleer/Skybox, Football 89Fleer/90ProSet. I’ll see if there’S more tucked away. Interested in anything?

Don't know if you'd be interested in any or all of these Hawaiians, but here's ones I could send your way:

Started on the 84F, looks like I’ll have at least a couple hundred of your needs. Do you have plenty to trade? Let me know ballpark how many you want me to pull.

Sorry, no extras. I don't recall there being much GU/certified auto stuff pre-1990, but maybe I just wasn't into it back then. Thanks for reminding me though. I dug through the closet and found a bunch of autos I got as a kid hanging out at the Pro Bowl here in Hawaii. Really brought back some cool memories. It's driving me a little crazy right now though, as I'm trying to figure out where the Jerry Rice auto I got is hiding. To me, real autographs from players you actually meet have so much more sentimental value than buying them.
