Most Significant TTM Losses
I tried to find a previous thread on the subject but didn't see anything.
A month or so ago I sent an item to Brooks Robinson previously signed by Bobby Shantz, Dick Groat, Steve Garvey, Ryne Sandberg, and Andre Dawson -- hoping to add another signature of a league MVP to it. I can tell from the turnaround times in the TTM Manager that my item should have been returned by now (and yes, I sent a generous "donation"). Either Mr. Robinson mis-placed it, or more likely, the USPS lost the item either coming or going. I'm aware of the risk one takes when sending out an item, so other than being completely annoyed by the situation (sending to a 99% success rate responder), I'm curious what stories others have with respect to "losing" significant TTM items.
The only thing that rivals this for me was a book I sent to John Glenn while he was still alive and actively signing. The book was never returned to me even after I sent a follow-up letter several months later asking if it could be returned to me even without a signature.Last edited by Calleyoop; 03-04-2019 at 05:39 PM.

I never send anything that I could not afford losing. High end items (jerseys etc)I usually try to contact the athlete to ask if I may send the item

I had a signed 8 x 10 of fenway with about 10 different sigs that went to Mr. Tiant , and also a baseball signed by Gaylord Perry I sent to Jim Both Never Returned. I also have a NASCAR HOF signed photo by about 10 guys still out and its getting close to writing off.
