Best set to buy value wise

Hi, I'm new to hockey card collecting (I used to buy them when I was a kid without any knowledge about it) and I was wondering, in your opinions, which sets are the most worth it value wise.

My hypothesis would be UD S1 or S2 because of the young guns which are pretty much the only rookie cards that have real value. However my knowledge is limited and I don't know much other sets so I ask the question.

Which set has the best value for its price
Also, are there any sets other then UD S1 or S2 that have good value for its price?

    Thanks for the answers!

Buying singles that will go up in value later is the best way in terms of value. Other than that, retail S1/S2 on sale is the best value.

If you are just trying to build a set, I would say Upper Deck retail is the best.
If you are trying for some decent hits for trade value and still building your set I would say go Upper Deck Hobby.
You might still pull a decent hit in retail but your odds are better in hobby boxes they just cost more.
