Getting frustrated with the hobby again.

May I need to take a break? Before I really get upset. Prices going up on what I’m buying and prices are going down on what I have to sell. Trading is getting harder as when I have cards for them they do not have cards for me. When they have cards for me I do not have cards for them. Just a catch 22. I have been told I have to sulk it up and pay more, then they ask for a cheaper price on what I’m selling as it is not selling right now.

I have taken a deep breath and feel better. I’m a collector of Nebraska football players any/all in college/pro uniforms. Right now I have 9,100 diff cards but there are over 18,000 more out there. I understand a lot of them are out of my price range. Way too many 1/1s and low number stuff. I hate to pay a $1.00 for common when (if) I find them at a show I get them for a .05 or .10. I’m going for the cheap stuff and letting others get the higher dollar stuff. Maybe I have all the cheap stuff and do need to pay more.

I have down sized my other cards up until a while back when my brother asked me to sell my nephew’s collection (close to 200,000 cards). Maybe that is what has frustrated me more than my PC. Selling cards cheap and having to pay higher for cheap commons and parallels

I collect as a hobby i have great Job do not need to sell cards to make a living no pressure and no stress thats whats its about i love my cards been collecting for over 28 years no worries hope you feel better soon keep collecting with that being said i have a bunch of nebraska players in college uniform for trade

I hate to see anyone get upset with what should be a hobby of fun imo. So if your in need of a break take one. We all get frustrated from time to time. As with all things just bide your time and you will always find good deals if your patience. As you said at the shows they are .05 or .10 cards buy for your pc which is great deal. Shipping can also kill the small deals as well. Just have to find the things that make you happy in the hubby and enjoy those.

It has gotten a bit rougher lately but there are always peaks and valleys. You go through a dry spell and then bam a ton of stuff to mail out and receive.

Have you tried buying on here? Usually the people selling on here have stuff from very cheap. So cheap that even I can afford to buy from them.

Being retired now I have spent more time looking for cards that are priced right. Maybe to much time. I use to see a card and buy it with out looking to see if it is priced high/low. I have had to take breaks before I take a long break from this site some time back.
Yes shipping has killed more deals then I want to remember. When they have only a couple of .25 cards and do not want to do a PWE trade/sale. It falls apart fast.
