Cool I Was Once Almost Arrested In A Chicken Suit

    Howdy!

That story is true and is probably a good example of my life in general. My name is Tom and I'm a disabled vet who just graduated college. I just got into collecting sports memorabilia for a variety of reasons and am excited to start collecting with you all! I am a professional photographer/videographer that specializes in sports and sports cards are basically sports photos.

Because I'm new, I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on what I should get to store and house my cards. Both for archival purposes and display. I have kids that love the cards too, but they know that ones with plastic aren't meant to be touched.

I plan on taking some photographs of baseball cards soon, and wanted to get some opinions on why you like sports cards or memorabilia. These photos are going to be intimate and obsess over details like the patches or signatures, or how the card is displayed. I'll be sure to post them when I'm done!

Thanks for having me! I pretty much only collect Padres stuff from this year. I am REALLY into soccer, but my team isn't usually represented in various card sets.

edit: Oh yeah! The story! So, I was working at ACE Hardware when I was younger, and they had a promotion where if you bought a bag of chick feed, you got some free chicks. To advertise, they had a big parking lot festival. The fire department was there, bouncy house, grill, and a giant dancing chicken. Said chicken was a man in a suit. Me. My boss told me to dance, and I didn't relaly know how. So I started doing stuff like the Macarena and the hula hoop. I'm doing my thing when 'BAM!' a car slammed into another one. I moved away, and the fire department responded. While they helped everyone in the accident, I went inside the store for a drink of water. Suit was hot as heck. Then, my boss comes in and tells me that the police were looking for me. I ran into the bathroom and locked the door. I refused to come out. Like that would have mattered to the cops right? Turns out, the police just wanted to play a joke on me because it was a small town and the boss and cops knew each other. My boss thought it would be funny to get a picture of me arrested in a chicken suit. Looking back, I agree, but I refused to get out of that bathroom.
