The future of McDonald’s All American cards 09?

While researching the latest eBay sales, I stumbled upon something that caught my attention. In the last few years, Topps was able to get the best young prospects who participated in the annual McDonald’s All American High School School Game to autograph cards for them, then Topps released these cards as the kids make their way to the NBA. So, we saw Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose and other players from last year’s NBA draft have these cards released in Topps products last year.

Well, this is apparanetly the last year of Topps making basketball cards and yet they still have thes cards in their vaults. Top names like Blake Griffin, Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans are in this year’s draft, but it seems like Topps cannot legally put these in products next year.

What will happen to cards? Will Topps sell them individually online? Sell them to Pannini, so Pannini can distribute them? I can’t imagine that Topps would destroy them. A few have leaked out onto eBay, and I have been able to track their sales, so take a look at some of the prices on these cards have been fetching.
