2006 NHL draft review; Wild selected Sheppard in first round

    BY: Jospeh Gunther

The 2006 draft produced two players on the current roster from Canada, two Minnesota high school players currently in college and three Europeans still overseas for the Minnesota Wild. This is the first draft the Wild selected one player in each round, no picks acquired or sent away in trades.

Here is how the Wild’s 2006 draft picks have done since the draft.

drafts are such a crapshoot. i mean certain teams are better than others and you can get lucky/unlucky at times. if you look at who the wild picked and then the next three players drafted after they did really well.
