GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes drafted five more players Saturday and acquired three defensemen in trades including veteran Jim Vandermeer from the Calgary Flames.

Vandermeer, 29, has appeared in 312 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Chicago and Calgary. He began his NHL career with the Flyers in 2002-03.

The Coyotes sent right wing Brandon Prust to the Flames for Vandermeer and also got defenseman Sami Lepisto from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a fifth-round draft choice in 2010 and defenseman Shaun Heshka from the Vancouver Canucks for a seventh-round pick in Saturday's draft held in Montreal.

Phoenix drafted right wing Chris Brown in Saturday's second round (36th overall), goaltender Michael Lee in the third round (91st overall), right wing Jordan Szwarz in the fourth round (97th overall), defenseman Justin Weller in the fourth round (105th overall) and left wing Evan Bloodoff in the sixth round (157th overall).
