    10/10 Dylan Cozens Patch Auto

    I pulled this out of a pack and not sure what to do. I’m new to the hobby. Is this worth grading? Should I hold it or try to trade up?

    @BigVin34

    That is a nice card but several things.

    1) It a thick card so it probably will not grade well. Since there is only 10 copies is there really a point to grade it. If it was his rookie I might say go for grading.
    2) Where is he playing now? As many collectors will want him in his new team uniform not his past team. As he was collected heavily by Sabre fans in his rookie season and first few years.
    3) Also, it might be a patch piece but it a one color and folks love those insane patches which would be another reason to grade it if it had a insane patch.
    4) Cozens, had peaked with 68 points and has been a downward trend as far as points go for the last few years so I would not hold it if you think it going to go up in value.

    What do you mean trade up? Are you talking to trade up for another player etc. LMK and I can give you my two cents. A sweet card and a awesome pull from a pack. It always hard to trade a card if it not hot or the next big thing and imo he is neither.

    I am just getting into the hobby and don’t know a whole lot about it. I would’ve assumed that being a 10/10 would make it something I would want preserved and graded. I’m getting the impression that because there are only 10 of them, it’s not worth grading. Is that because there’s not 2000 of the same card it is competing with? Many late nights and early morning with a newborn got me in to this. Any help and info is appreciated. As far as trading, I’m not sure, I thought card folks did a lot of trading that’s all. Thanks for spelling some things out for me, I’ve been trying to have discussions in the Facebook groups but they aren’t so friendly for new folks.

    Read what I stated originally as your not getting my point.

    It a thick card so it probably will not grade well.

    Thicker cards have a tendency not to grade well. So, why grade it unless your sure it going to get a 9 or higher. As I seen thicker cards get graded and get a 7 as example. If you then try to sell it folks are going to mention that it a 7 out of 10 etc. Hence, why I siad not to grade it. As for preserving a toploader or one touch will protect it.
