Personally, I have found a few categories of people that hate military men and women. They typically fall into three categories:

    1. They tried to get into the military, but were turned down or kicked out after a short stint. Jealousy and/or emotional pain usually breeds hatred.
    2. They lost a girlfriend to a military guy.
    3. They are so anti-war that they think all military guys are idiots and baby killers.

    Really dude?

Where is the option where one does not hate military men or women, they just think that war most of the time can be avoided and often changes someone for the worse?

I don't think highly enough of humanity to presume war can be avoided.

Didn't we just talk about the whole pathetic pathos (heh) appeal? The answers from which we're to choose are a bit ridiculous. I imagine you'll use your poll from a conservative-leaning website to try to either:

    a) sway my view (good luck)
    b) attack my view
    c) reassure yourself

Your participation in this was completely voluntary. I do appreciate your response. As you'll notice, your view is in the huge minority.

It's not just a soldier, either. Publicly paid abortions are about last on my list of things that should come to reality. If you were to fall and break your leg tomorrow, and we have a public healthcare policy, I would be glad to pay for your expense. However, to pay for the conscious mistake of another is quite different.

I'm glad you think so highly of the values of women who get abortions. Sure, a lot are great people who truly just slipped up. That's fine. But that doesn't warrant the populous of this country to pay. Furthermore, I'm just guessing that a lot of these women acted very foolishly to end up where they are. I'm not okay with paying for drunk women's abortion, and I'm sure there are plenty of abortions that stem from just that.

So I'm conservative? Is it conservative to support abortions or gay marriage or the legalization of marijuana? Weird. Just try and guess who I voted for last November, champ.

I assume were talking about insurance paying for it... so in this case, I voted no difference. Putting certain people's healthcare issues over others' is one of the reasons our healthcare/insurance system is so messed up in the first place. They both need a procedure done, and they both "deserve" it, regardless of who's is more "noble."

I have to agree, if a women wants to make decision to not bring a life into the world they can not/ or do not want to care for than that's being responsible-even though its after an intial mistake.

Is there a reason why you don't mention the guy's responsibility here? You just can't blame a women since it takes two.

IMO its foolish not to use protection or B/C, but I'd rather have the mistake taken care of than a child who burdens the system or has a terrible home life.

There is a huge difference in this cases.

He serve our country and he deserves it.

The girl had sex and does not want the baby. Her family can pay for the abortion. If not she needs to have the baby and give it for adoption.

There is no need for politicians to be evaluating and comparing this totally opposite situations.

yeah. the two things just dont add up. There is a big difference between losing a limb and getting an abortion. One person is out a few hundred bucks and a half a day of time. The other has to endure multiple surgeries and months or years of rehab to learn to walk again. You are also forgetting something else. I think it was Yanks who said the soldier was stupid for enlisting/signing the military contract. You forget that the decision is based on the knowledge that they will get all of their medical help for free. I dont see too many people enlisting otherwise. thats why the arguments are different.

Are you serious? Should we also deny football players coverage because they are willingly playing a sport that is obviously dangerous? I'm not going to go into how ridiculous it is to put the girl's problems on her family's tab, but I would have a much bigger problem seeing another baby put up for adoption. It's bad enough how many kids go up for adoption as it is, not to mention the ones who's parents say they don't want a kid after a couple years of doing a ****ty job of raising them. I don't know if people realize the psychological problems that can arise and the cost these "unwanted" kids end up being on our system in the long run.
