You are 100% right he played incredible down the stretch and he had the swine flu (or maybe mono i cant remember) at the start of the season. But i think 70-75 is a bit high. If i had to guess id say around 50-60 is how he will do. Everyone has to understand that he was older than most rookies and therefore should be a bit ahead of most of the younger guys.

If betting were allowed here, I'd put a bet up with any Leafs fans that they don't make the playoffs. And I'm talking cash. And not just $5

You should start betting your team will win a Cup before 2030. That would be way more funnier to watch.

When was the last time the Kings won the cup? Only winnipeg/phoenix has had a more inept team than the kings all-time. If you dont have any constructive thoughts to add to the discussion maybe dont comment on it.

So when I say I don't think that the Leafs will make the playoffs, you talk about the Kings? It's not like the Leafs have won on since the Kings joined the league. You guys won when there was drastically less teams. Gratz, the Kings have never won one. And you want constructive comments? Here:
The Leafs offense sucks. Their D is definitely solid but with that weak of an offense, they will NOT make the playoffs. Hence my last post.

the negative - not enough scoring, still no center for kessel (maybe bozak), iffy in net as Giguere hasn't been very good in a long time.
positives - lots of young players coming, good blue line
burke should definitely move kaberle so he gets something for him. i know he has said he wants a top-6 guy but not sure he'll get that for one year of Kaberle.
they might be a playoff team if they get solid goaltending and have a couple of the young guys step up. as long as they don't finish in the bottom ten of the league the Kessel trade won't end up as one of the worst in league history.

It's a bigger loss for the Leafs to trade Kaberle for a bottom-6 forward. And, if you've been keeping track of Burke's moves as a Leafs GM, you'll see that - for the most part - he's getting good value in return when he does a trade. I will be extremely shocked if we get a bottom-6 for Kaberle. We'd be trading a 50-point player for a 20, maybe a 30-point player on a team that lacks serious offense? I don't think so.

i don't think he'll get an established top 6. he might get a future top-6. the problem with Kaberle is that he's only got one year left on his deal and then he'll jet. unless Kaberle is willing to sign long-term i just don't see Burke getting an established scorer unless he's also in his last year of his deal.

Here's my problem with that reasoning. Everyone is up-at-arms if Kaberle doesn't re-sign, yet everyone doesn't care if Giggy goes and the Leafs get nothing in return for him.
Kaberle not resigning would be great because we can re-sign Schenn and Gunnarsson. Kaberle staying wouldn't be a bad deal either. So, it's still a win-win for the Leafs here.

Phaneuf , Beauchemin , Komisarek , Schenn , Lebda , Gunnarsson.....and Kaberle.
Leafs don't need Kaberle. They already have guys who can do his job on the PP and they already have better shut-down guys than him.
Kaberle should be gone...the question is when.
