UD Buyback?
Opened up my box of UD Series 2 today and got this Buyback card:
First, the impressive certificate...

Malreau Front...

Modano Back...

Geesh! What's next?
The Upper Deck Clean-Out-The-Warehouse Series?

I don't know why they even bother with these.
Normally a buy-back has something (i.e. a Stamp, a Signature, whatever) on the card..... so it's actually different from the origional one. They bought back the card, but modified it in some way - before it's released.
If it's just an extra 'hit'..... no harm / no foul...... but they should really up their game a little bit if they're going to do stuff like this.

They need to bring back the BuyBack autographs. The autograph case hits in Series 1 & 2 these days are beyond pathetic. They're full of 4th line scrubs, or weak sophomore year careel AHLers.

I liked when "buy backs" were base that were rebought, signed and repacked. Not to mention low print run (usually)
A certificate like that can be used for anything. They could have at least mentioned the card on the certificate. In this case (not saying you would do it) replace the scan of the Marleau/Thornton with a Gretzky or Crosby ect. All of a sudden you have a high end player "buy back".

Don't forget Mark Fraser. I think that of the 4 "case hit" autos I've seen pulled from UD2 so far Fraser's been three of them.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Same here. Pat Elynuik, Jason Soules, Gaetan Duchesne from the 90-91 UD Set...worthless and uninteresting.
