Egyptians pelt Hillary Clinton motorcade with tomatoes

    http://news.yahoo.com/clinton-talks-...142600571.html

Protesters threw tomatoes and shoes at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's motorcade on Sunday during her first visit to Egypt since the election of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi.

A tomato struck an Egyptian official in the face, and shoes and a water bottle landed near the armoured cars carrying Clinton's delegation in the port city of Alexandria.

A senior state department official said that neither Clinton nor her vehicle, which were around the corner from the incident, were struck by any of the projectiles.

Protesters chanted: "Monica, Monica", a reference to Former President Bill Clinton's extra-marital affair. Some chanted: "leave, Clinton", Egyptian security officials said.

It was not clear who the protesters were or what political affiliations they had. Protesters outside Clinton's hotel on Saturday night chanted anti-Islamist slogans, accusing the United States of backing the Muslim Brotherhood's rise to power.

...So Egypt ousted their leader and now they're angry at the US over who they elected? Was not the guy they ousted a friend to the US? Is the Muslim Brotherhood not the enemy of the US (unless you're a right-wing conspiracy theorist)?

    This makes no sense.

From what I gather the election in Egypt came down to two people. One was an associate from the old regime and the other was a religious fanatic. Neither was going to be popular if they won. They were both bad choices for anybody that is moderate (hey just like us).

I guess seeing as how Obama wanted the old regime to fall these people are assuming he backed the Muslim Brotherhood candidate? Or like everything else it seems when something goes wrong just blame America.

Well, America is often to blame, but this seems out of line.

We should do the same thing in here with some of our politicians. Some of them deserve this and more. But if you do it here, you go to jail.
