BGS Pricing Increase
Recent BGS Policy Change and Price Increases
What you need to know with the new BGS Grading policy changes:
Timeframes:
After the 10 day turnaround time frame everything else is NON guaranteed time frame. BGS has stated that they want to hold onto the cards for as short a time as possible so they will be as quick as they can without having the quality of the grading suffer.
If you card has an BV (listed in paper mag or Beckett OPG) of +$500 then it has to be in the 10 Day turnaround or less time frame. They realize that these cards are higher end and want to get them back to the customer ASAP.
Any discounted pricing we use for 10 day turnaround or less will be NON guaranteed time frame.
Sub Grades:
If you have a modern card 1981 or newer and it grades less than a 8.5 BGS will no longer put sub grades on the cards condition, it will be a whole number grade.
If you feel that you card will grade below an 8.5 but want guaranteed sub grades you will need to submit it in a 10 day or less sub.

I've confirmed via my rep that any card sent into the 20 day sub that books $500+ will be taken out and treated as a 10 day sub card, be charged @ $20/card and incur separate shipping and insurance charges. It will be imperative that you know the BOOK VALUE via Beckett paper price guide or OPG.

what about cards that are subjectively priced such as n/a, low numbered?

I still need to find out about that but if I go by what they said originally, technically it's not priced so I would assume it would fly in a non guaranteed sub. My rep is out on the road until mid next week, I'll try to fond out concrete at that point.

I also want to see that if they find a card of that value if they can not grade it and send it back with the rest of the cards...

Hey Rog, just checking to see where things are at with the June sub? Is the 10 day you are looking at doing the guaranteed sub or the non-guaranteed sub with discounted pricing? Also, did you find out about the cards that are not priced due to scarcity?

@nskrbec
Cards not priced due to scarcity will follow this protocol>
They will look at the next highest print run and use that pricing. So if Card "X" is /10 and not priced, but the same card /25 is $500 the the not priced one needs to be in the 10 day.
They will also look at sell value, I;m assuming from eBay. Glad to know they have all this "extra" time to go look at sell values...
