SCF This Week (July 3-7)

Members -

This is going to be an extremely busy week for me. There will be a number of items that I want to tie up before I head back out on the road for work

First, I will be posting the July Member giveaway tomorrow (Monday night) - it is going to be a Football autograph. However, I am going to tell you that August is going to be a BIG, BIG auto that we will be giving away!

Second, I will be running the June giveaway on Thursday or Friday night - I am compiling results from @ravens_creed and other site initiatives in June

Third, at some point this week, I plan to send out an email message to the membership at large (Newsletter like).

Fourth, I have had a few requests and also seen a few comments in the last few months about a quicker way to communicate with members on SCF. I have been evaluating some chat room solutions, which has pros and cons. Also, I am looking at a messaging system that would allow for IM's to be sent via SCF. This is something that I really would like to have in place by the end of the summer, but there is no guarantee that something will be available. Keep an eye out for this as I might need several members to help beta test this out.

Fifth, I am going to start researching ways to have better backup capabilities to the SCF Database compared to what we have today. There are a number of possibilities that exist, but I want to find the solution that is going to work best going forward. I do not want to EVER have to restore from a backup similar to what happened last week.
