Anti-Semitic man opens fire at museum

WASHINGTON - An 88-year-old gunman with a virulently anti-Semitic past fatally shot a security guard inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday before being shot himself by other officers, authorities said. The assailant was hospitalized in critical condition, leaving behind a sprawling investigation by federal and local law enforcement and expressions of shock from the Israeli government and a prominent Muslim organization.

A sad buy all to typical incident these days, if hatred and discrimination wasnt so supported by the government less things like this would happen. Anyone ever notice that there has not been an era in America where some segment of the population hasnt had its rights supressed by the government, its really sad.

88 years old...I wonder what the tipping point was. Usually, the older you get, the more mellow you get, the less hatred you have. Just odd to me that he makes it through a longer life than most people get, but finally decides he has to do something...

It looks like hate crimes are on the rise...

I wouldn't necessarily say that just because there have been two high profile incidents lately...perhaps there's a rash of them getting more news than usual, but I would wait until I saw some actual numbers before coming to that conclusion.

Who's rights are being supressed in this situation? The anti-Semites?

Actually i was referring to the fact that from the slaves of yester year to the gays of today some segment of the population has been allowed to be discrminated against openly and encouraged by the governmant and its actions. When you have the gov saying its ok then problems like this will always exist

I can understand that, but how does it apply in this situation? The Jews have been suppressed, but haven't been for a long time. The only suppression that might be involved is of white supremacists, which I would think is a good thing. I'm not questioning your statement, I just don't see how it comes into play in this topic.

I think he was just vaguely talking about how there are still people around that still believe that some groups shouldn't belong or shouldn't exist like the racists who have that opinion about blacks or jews or religious groups that think that about homosexuals

I haven't watched much news lately, but how many of the "obama" networks are trying to label this guy as "right-wing" right off the bat?

Darwin-loving museum shooter hates Bible, Christians.

    James von Brunn

James von Brunn, the man who allegedly shot and killed a guard at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., was a Darwin-lover who hated the Bible and Christians, and defies media efforts to classify him as a stereotypical "right-winger," according to reports.......

...."The anti-Semitism of von Brunn is the first thing one notices when visiting these bizarre websites. However, like those of most 'white supremacists,' many of von Brunn's political views track 'Left' rather than 'Right.' Clearly, a re-evaluation of these obsolete definitions is long overdue," she wrote.......

I also wonder if this horrible incident will be used horrificly by "anti-gun nuts" to get more restrictions in the wake of this tragedy, like nearly every other recent tragedy has been used.

I didn't hear any. Antisemitism isn't a right wing vs left wing battle. I did however hear a commentator on Fox-News say "Despite previous speculatory reports on this program, the gunman was not a Muslim"

Yes, but most antisemitists are linked, correctly or incorrectly, to the right wing.

And I've seen much more idiotic speculations on the "obama" networks.

    ANSWER: NONE

However if they did one could understand why - from wickipedia:

Right-wing racialists believe that there is a racial hierarchy wherein superior races have a natural authority or supremacy over inferior races.

Calling this guy a Right-wing racialist would be accurate.
