Junior / Team Issue Cards - Worried about reprints?
I have several team issue postcards from the Philadelphia Flyers (mid to late 80's) and thought I complete try to complete the sets. I bought a few needed cards from an online seller, but when I received the cards they were on much thinner paper stock. The one I already have are printed on thicker paper, the same as your average postcard while these new one seem to be lighter, photo stock paper. They are heavier than avergage copy paper, but clearly not the same density of the original cards. I am wondering if they could be just copies produced with a home scanner / printer.
With the improvements in technology, it would not be difficult to scan/print cards at home, especially minor league and team issue cards which generally do not use thick card stock paper. Has anyone else run into a situation like this, or has these concerns?Last edited by Drewk86a; 03-25-2013 at 05:25 PM.

I've never run into it but I own quite a few minor league cards and I could see where it would be possible. Some of the minor league cards in my collection are paper thin and probably wouldn't be difficult to replicate at home. It doesn't seem like something that would be very profitable though since its a bit of niche market.

It would take a special level of ridiculousness to try to reprint team issue cards for profit.
