Season of Mystery--The Final Leg--Free Agent Frenzy

This is the end of the line. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have participated in this contest throughout the 2016-17season. It has been a ton of fun and I hope that you've all enjoyed the little twists and turns along the way. A huge thank you to our site owner @scottkoz20 and to @Pheebs888 for making that connection with Frameworth Sports to secure the Mystery Box grand prize!

I can tell you guys that we are already hard at work securing some awesome prizes for next season and our next big contest. It's going to be a lot of fun for everybody!

All right, so free agency starts on Saturday. As you read this, teams are holding meetings with UFA player agents trying to get a feel for what that player wants and whether they'll be a good fit going forward.

The UFA class of 2017 is headlined by the likes of Joe Thornton and Kevin Shattenkirk, making it one of the more interesting classes in recent years. At the same time, many top teams are facing a salary cap crunch that may make it difficult for top dollars to be issued.

What does this have to do with you?

We want you to pick 10 UFA players and tell us where they'll sign, for how long, and for how much per season aka the Annual Average Value (AAV).

The full list of all pending UFA's can be found here at CapFriendly.

You can go with the top ten, you can go with guys like David Desharnais and Brian Elliott.

There's only a couple minor limitations...
1. You must include at least 1 goalie.
2. You can't predict a guy retiring or going to Europe or the KHL. It must be about guys signing new deals in the NHL.
3. Because some of the second-tier guys may not get signed right away, there is a deadline of July 15th. If you pick a guy and he doesn't sign a deal in the first half of July, you'll get no points for him.

Scoring

There are 4 points available per player you select:
For each player you successfully match to a team, you will receive 1 point.
For each player's contract length you successfully predict, you will receive 1 point.
For each player's contract AAV you successfully predict, you will receive 1 point.
If you successfully match all aspects (player-team-term-AAV) you will receive 1 point.

Example:
Jarome Iginla to Montreal - 2yrs, $3.5M AAV
If Iginla goes to the Habs on a 2-year deal for a total of $7 ($3.5M AAV) you get four points.
If Iginla signs in Dallas for 2 years at $6M ($3M AAV) you will receive 1 point.

You have until June 30th at noon PDT to get your ten players, their new teams, and the term & dollar amounts submitted to me via PM. Please do not post publicly.

Note: If a player signs after you post but before July 1st, we will count it for you. If a player signs before the deadline, and you haven't posted, you can't *nudge nudge wink wink* post that non-prediction.

When the July 15th deadline is hit, all scores will be tabulated and we will declare ourselves a winner and the champion of the Season of Mystery Contest!
