So much has changed!
Hey everyone! New member here. I havent collected since the crash of the early 90s and just looking to get back into it. Love how much has changed with the scene since then!
Really curious to chat with other members. Want to hear about how you do things, and what is working best. Been reading lots, but nothing beats a good chat.
Reach out if you're interested in sharing a little about your hobby :)

clutch- Welcome to SCF! While a lot has changed, it still boils down to collecting what you like. There's no one right way to collect.
Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

Hello @clutch! Welcome!
I’m a similar collector working on 4 sports. I find there are so many sets and players I would like to collect that I really need to prioritize. As other members have said, ultimately need to focus on collecting the items the most meaningful for each person!

Welcome clutch to SCF and back to the hobby. I am now mostly collecting just the players I want to collect. It is what you like collecting that makes this a hobby.
BakeFootball: Emmitt Smith and CeeDee Lamb!
Baseball: Aaron Judge/Adley Rutschman/Derek Jeter/Anthony Volpe!
Only collect Football/Baseball cards, but I have lots of Basketball/Hockey cards and set to trade for BB and FB!

@clutch
Feel free to hit me up when you are ready to discuss graded or grading cards. It's way new since the 90's. In case you haven't seen them yet, PSA, Beckett and others now grade cards on a scale from 1 to 10 and encapsulate the card. Check it out and check out our forum here. If you need any other assistance in the use of tools or anything, hmu as well and I will help you out.
Have fun and Welcome to SCF Rich
