Poll: 56 percent oppose stimulus program

Poll: 56 percent oppose stimulus program

A majority of Americans oppose the economic stimulus program, according to a new national poll.

Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Sunday say they oppose the stimulus package, with 42 percent supporting it.

Another are where the Democrats are ignoring the American people...with 56% opposed to the stimulus already passed, I'm sure that many or more are opposed to a new stimulus bill, yet the Dems are probably going to try to push one through.

Not this again...it didn't work when Bush tried it, what in Hell makes them think it would work this time?

When did Bush try it? Obama said if we don't pass the first one quickly, unemployment will rise over 8%. When it failed Obama said that we didn't spend enough.

That's like comparing apples and oranges. Bush's stimulus actually helped a few people by putting money in their pockets and the cost was at least $800 dollars less. All Obama's did was pay back Unions and special interest for voting for him.

I didn't like Bush's or Obama's. They haven't even paid out all of the cash that Obama's plan set aside. I'm guessing they are waiting until closer to election day before they hand it out so the money is fresh in the minds of voters. Just another way to use OUR money to keep themselves employed.

Bush not only had the tax credit checks a few years ago, but their was a stimulus in the fall of his last year in office.

That's exactly right. Why would we need another stimulus when over half the first one still hasn't been used? The ONLY reason is saving it for when it will look better on them.

The $700 billion bailout of the banks I'm not to concerned about given that almost all of the money has been paid back with interest. I didn't agree with it at all, but the real problem is government control of the banks as well as the extra tax Obama wants them to pass on to us. There was also the same problem with the car companies that was total hogwash. That was nothing more then government/green jobs propaganda machine that probably would have taken place given that G.M. and Chrysler has some (not all) of the dumbest union workers in the auto industry working for them. Both of those bailouts are still total garbage, but we will pay a bigger cost with American liberties then we will with actual tax dollars.
