I always wondered, wouldn't it get boring if you had a lot of money to spend? I see people who can just purchase whatever card they want any anytime. I know if it were me, I'd be bored. How could you chase? You'd see a card, you'd buy it. No quick sales, no trying to earn some extra cash on the side, you just buy. I know if I was a millionaire, I just couldn't collect cards anymore, wouldn't be fun. Am I in the minority?

Seeing as you are not a millionaire, how do you really know if you would or would not collect cards any more?

As someone with above average funds to spend on cards, I can tell you that as a collector by nature, the more money I have, the more cards I will buy. Not the opposite.

If you were rich, would you stop eating filet mignon because you could have it any time? Or would you keep on drinking garbage rail vodka when you could drink Grey Goose?

Not trying to come down on you at all, just saying that if you are a true collector, I don't think you would stop if you were "rich".

If you like the cards themselves, it will be fun. Right up there with collecting sports cars.

Agreed Jeremy. Your tastes would just go up a notch I'm sure. Some pretty awesome pieces would suddenly be in the wheelhouse. Who knows, it may grow tiresome, but heck, I'm willing to give it a shot

i dabble with high end stuff but i don't have the ability to just go out and buy whatever i want. you have to remember though that the fun is in the chase! not just for high end collectors but anyone in the hobby in general. just hoping, waiting, and searching for the 1 card you want is fun.

also, i'd rather have the problem of having too much money and being a little bored rather than doing fine and having some fun. ;)

I would agree with Kevin... I am by no means a Multi-Millionaire, but I am lucky enough to have some funds that allows me to spend on some highend cards, like many on this board... Having said that, sometimes the collection gets boring, so you change direction, but the chase NEVER gets boring.. The hunt is the best part of the hobby for me and that will always keep me POOR!! lol...

If I won the lottery, I'd open a card store. It's always been a dream of mine. Cracking boxes, talking shop with customers, swinging huge deals...I could deal with that kind of life!

100% agree!!!!!!! I work retail already so I know it wouldnt be a piece of cake but thats always been my dream job!!!

AAs far as the original ? I don't think all the fun would be out of it, still not easy to even find some cards.

If I was a Millionaire and had a card shop, my customers would be walking on all my wrappers lying on the floor. At the end of the day I would turn on my brand new super charged fan and blow them all to the door. First person who walks in the next day gets an avalanche of wrappers and a free pack of Victory. Nice guy eh!
