How should I organize my PC?

So I am starting a Jiri Hudler PC. And he has MANY base and low-end RC's. I was thinking putting them in those nine page pages and putting them in binders. And than getting the binder signed by Hudler. And having it on display surrounded by higher end Hudler stuff.

Question 1: What should I put in the binder? Base only? Base, inserts, RC's?
Question 2: Are binders even a safe way to hold cards? I've heard stories that sometimes cards get bent in them.

    Thanks!

I am having the same problem with my PC.

I don't really know how to store all of my base/inserts etc. I have all of my old 1994/95ish cards in a binder and it has gotten all dusty inside so am reluctant in putting my new PC in one of those. As for my GU stuff, I'm even more stuck.

Can you get binders that zip all the across so no dust/dirt etc can get inside?

Also, when I acquire a new base of my PC guy, if they were to be put in a binder, I'm going to have to move each card to fit it in if I decide to put it in any order.

Well I am going to organize it where a certain card goes in a certain spot. From his rookie year to now. So I don't have to move it.

Also I will probably have my binder in a case of something.

I recently started a PC of all yzerman....i am thinking he probably has way more cards out there than hudler so what I am doing is putting base into one binder, inserts into second, rcs into third and for GU, autos etc i will get a display case, or one of those "boxes" of thin drawers (kind of what dentist has for his tools if you know what i mean) and put all the cards in there. Autos in one drawers, GU in other, 1/1 in another and so on...only still not sure about the binder of RCs since they can be quite expensive with yzerman and dont wanna damage them in the binder...I also heard it can happen, even though i never had any bad experience....I guess its about how much you move them, how dusty is your place, and how many pets that chew and dribble you own:)

Oh, okay. So you're going to leave 'spots' where you can fill when you get that particular card?

Sounds like a good plan to me. By the way, silly question, but what is the difference between a base and insert?

When I get base of inserts of my PC guys (Roy and Brodeur) I put them in a binder and I sort them by years so I do not need to move them at all, I just had a new sheet when i have completed a 9 spaces sheet of a given year. I don't really mind if all the Spx cards or UD cards are not all together for that one year, i prefer not to manipulate the cards too much.

As for GUs or autos, the best way to display them in the UK I find is to put them in frames. Let's be honest we do not have card stores and cannot buy especially made display stuff. So what I do is buy deep frames from Hobbycraft, place each card in a penny sleeve, top loader and then blue tack every top loader to a big piece of card before fitting the card in the frame. Here is an example:

    1. Base and inserts. GU and autos, you should show off one way or another.
    2. For now, I think it's the best way to hold them, until they come up with something new anyway...

I do like the idea of putting them in frames. I have around 50 at the moment I think and will weigh up my options.

I think I may have to separate them in years, and being me, they may also have to be in alphabetised by manufacturer order as it'll be easier to identify… yeah, I can be quite particular about organisation!

I find frames give you a chance to marvel at your own collection for ages lol...I'm up to 6 PC frames now, 3 Roys, 2 Brodeurs and 1 Quebec special. They are the proud and joy of my living room hehehe.

As for the alphabetical approach, I guess I wouldnt mind doing that but only once I've gathered all the cards from one year. That way I wouldnt have to keep moving cards to make way to the new ones...

    Haha, very true!
