Reason Why I Started Collecting Rich:
I started collecting Rich back in 2005 after his rookie season in 2004. Every time I watched him pitch, it was as if he might throw a perfect game each time he took the mound. He was close once, a 1 hit shutout of the Texas Rangers on like 82 pitches - Soriano broke it up with a broken bat bloop for the only hit. When healthy, he was always one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball and his strikeout to innings pitched ratio is one of the best in the history of the game. Injuries have taken a toll on his career, and I'm always hoping he can regain his form!
