As both said it stinks when you have to put a good pet down. Of course you said you gave her 4 years she might not have had. All I can say is grieve her loss when she gone and possibly get another cat not to replace her but to give a good life to honor her. As no pet can be replaced but it can help you in your loss.

Sorry to hear and best of luck on all fronts in crying in the vet office. I can admit I balled for my 240 lb baby when I had to put him down last year before he was truly ready to go. As you say they have no clue what going to happen and you hate taking them there. Of course in the end it the more humane thing to do. As you put their needs above yours which some owners do which is not right for the animal.

Don, thanks for your words. No need to get another tho, the part of Cleveland I live in is rampant with strays so I have 6 others here already. All of them rescues.

To all - Thanks for your kind words. She passed at the vets today at about 5 till 6. She is in a much better place. All kitties go to heaven especially the cutest girl kitty with a boy name ever.

Wife & I are huge cat lovers!! We've had to have 2 cats euthanized. One was 2 yrs old, the other was 4.
We have them creamated & in our home!!!
All our cats have facebook. So we keep their spirits alive thru pics.

:( Iam very sorry for you and your kitty. It is a very hard decision to make and I feel you are doing thr right thing. Better to fall asleep in the arms of someon you love and never wake upo than suffer through years of pain and tears.

sorry to hear this. I know it's after the fact, but I hope you are able to keep your spirits up knowing that you did what was in her best interest. I have 2 male cats that are just amazing and will be nuts when I am in the same position you are.
I too would recommend you get a kitten when you are ready so you can start the fun all over again!!
