    My weight challenge

Right now im about about 250 pounds

    This is my diet.

    1. No soda, only water and gatorade
    2. No red meat
    3. Eat 3 small meals a day.

My goal is to get down to about 140 or so next year. Wish me luck. I want comments and advice too.

Getting rid of soda is a great plan, I would consider limiting Gatorade as well since it also is high in sugar. Not sure if you are just not mentioning it but you should also include some workouts of both cardio and resistance training to see better results. Good luck and remember that at some times you will probably plateau on your gains a bit and it will take some extra motivation to stick with it through those times. It sounds like you are on the right track with your start though

instead of Gatorade, Propel would be a much better, healthier option

Even when you factor out the acids and other things in soda, Gatorade isn't all that healthier when you consider the sugar, calories, sodium etc. Even the G2 variety isn't great. Try Powerade Zero or Propel.

    Best of luck to you!

Think 4 meals not 3. Eat in reverse with your biggest and most caloric meal being breakfast then a moderate lunch moderate snack and a light evening meal, focus on moderate fiber intake of about 35g a day as well as moderate healthy fats. stay away from diet drinks containing sugar substitutes or is carbonates/alcoholic. And most important of all Think positive any weight loss is a good thing and accept the fact that you will occasionally trip up. Do not deny yourself the chance for sweets really if you eat healthy 80% of the time then you can on occasion allow that slice of pie or cake or ? just dont go crazy on it. this will help the urge to binge out.

I would say to add walking to your plan. I also found some drink mixes that are only 5 calories per package and sugar free at Wal-Mart.

Good luck and keep us updated.

if you add in working out and sitting in a sauna for a few hours you can get there but dieting alone will not do it.

I am doing a high fiber, low fat. I am also cutting out soda. Try green tea, (not the ones with sugar). Take a multi-vitimin. Do cardio.

instead of 3 meals go with 5 small meals. This way it keeps your metabolism up. Like others have said, cut out Gatorade and just go with water it will be much healthier.
