Thinking of maybe leaving the hobby...

    Hi all,

As the title suggests really. Am thinking of leaving but it really, really pains me of the thought of getting rid of my PC.

I really don't have the room to display them all and keep thinking to myself, they're just sitting in a box collecting dust, so to speak. I have gone through my cards and decided on the ones I wish to keep if I happen to go ahead with it and have a nice small display for those.

I definitely enjoy collecting so it's not a case of the fire burnt out, I don't know what it is really. I guess it's a case of having the cards sitting in a box doing nothing that makes me sad.

Sorry. More of an open arms message as oppose to a question, lol.

Dave, wait until the season starts. You'll get that fire going again. The summer hockey doldrums are in full force, and once everybody gets back on the ice you may be regretting letting some of that awesome collection go. All the moreso as I see that your next Gagne will bring you to #500. He's going to have some pretty cool new cards on what should be a great Kings team this year, too.
Unless you've got unlimited space, you'll never be able to display everything - just rotate stuff in and out from your display area to keep things fresh. You'll be amazed at how much you find you enjoy different cards to look at on a regular basis.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Am hoping that #500 will be a beauty, also.

Have a custom card ready to send out to be auto'd by three players, including Gagne, so I really do hope that comes back!!

I recently went through the same feelings...sold off and traded a number of cards that meant little to me, but kept the big boys that matter. Now I only collect and get the cards of interest to me, but trade for traders, things I think I might be able to trade for my wants, or sell. Hang in there, wait for the season to start, and it will come back!!!

    Almost!

I've named it 'Remembering The Remparts' and it contains Michel Goulet, Guy Lafleur and Simon Gagne.

Heard Goulet and Lafleur are good signers so it's all down to Simon. Going to send it to coincide with the Kings' pre-season camp.

Smart thinking - that seems to be the time that the players tackle the mailbag and get everything sent away to their adoring fans.

Hey, there is nothing wrong in refocusing your collecting habits! It's even a great idea. I enjoy the hobby much more now that I have 7 PC cards all displayed instead of when I stored my whole old Jake PC in a box......
