What boxes to buy during the holidays?

I'm looking to buy a few boxes as a christmas gift for myself, and I'm debating on what to get. I've checked a bunch of sites and compared prices and whatnot but still unsure on what to buy, to help ease myself back into collecting. I saw that Certified and UD1 are really popular, but I'm also looking at a few boxes from the 90's because there cheap and boxes from 05/06 to 09/10 because the prices are pretty decent.

Basically I'm wondering, should I A) buy 3-4 boxes of 10/11 stuff or B) buy boxes from various years, and get a large quanity of cards.

I'm looking to spend roughly $150-$200.

Gimme your suggestions!

I'd go with Certified or UDS1 or even Score. Also Donruss is coming out and so is Limited. I think Black Diamond is also coming out before Christmas. I might though just wait until the beginning of January for Panini Crown Royale! That product looks incredible!

You can't beat UD1... 6 YG, 2 jersey, possible short print, possible auto... its got a lot of great stuff for the price. You may be able to get 2-3 for what you're looking to spend.

i would got with prevoius years stuff or singles i personally would not be buying any of the paniani stuff as of yet i think so far it has just been a waste but im hoping the limited will be nicer and more appealing

I completely disagree but to each their own.

I'd get previous years stuff because if your looking for market value, most of it is established. Plus, depending on what you get, there is some good odds for good inserts and game used. Parallels don't pollute everything from previous years.

I'd even look into 05-06 Rookie Update if your spending that much. You can get 1 or 2 boxes of those as well as a good >$100 of other boxes.

I'd grab a couple boxes of score and then maybe a box or 2 of 10-11 Series 1.

Thanks for the replys everybody. Certified is high on my list cause theres a bunch of Lundqvist cards to be found. UD1 sounds nice, but to get Lundqvist cards the odds are really stacked against me in pulling one (1 GU, 2 SPs, 1 /15), so I'll have to wait till UD2 comes out for just to get a base, and whatever other cards he may have in UD2, and thats not worth a $60 dollar price tag IMO.

Limited also looks really good, as does Crown Royal, but CR looks like something you have to buy a case of if you want some decent hits. Score looks cool as well, but I think I'll look for that at retail stores.

Was also thinking about a box of Artifacts as well. I bought a few packs of retail Artifacts, and I really like the look of those. I wouldn't mind trying to build a base set of that, but Lundqvist cards are more important.
