Best way to start sorting collection?

I'm looking for ideas on the best way to start sorting out my collection. I have all my stuff sorted out by team, then alphabetically by player for each team. I'm thinking of putting it all online at another place in hopes to move them.

Would it be best to just start team by team entering the cards into a database? I know it would take too much time to go sorting them into sets, I have too many cards(5 monster boxes full plus a few other smaller boxes)

I have cards sorted by Player. I don't have them sorted by issues, as I'd have to have over 300 different boxes.

Once you get over 5,000 cards, it becomes a nightmare regardless of how it's done.

My main worry is what is in there. As on the other site I do not have book value pricing. So I've gone thru manually looking thru maybe half trying to pick out what looks like it's worth something. Since looking thru I have come across some high value cards. I just don't want to give up something good if I just ended up selling random lots of commons ya know.

I think I'll just start entering them in by team. Gonna be a nightmare. Then sort them into sets at another time maybe?

It was quite easy to just sort by team, just get focused on a logo and make piles. Could do lik e2 or 3 teams at a time. Then alphabetically wasn't bad either. When it gets into sets forget it. I don't even know half the sets I have. I'm not a wiz on that being able to name a set by the card design lol.
