Anyone asked Panini for a replacement?
I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through the process of having Panini replace a damaged card, and how well that process worked.
I have a nice card that has some damage to the edging, and I was considering asking for a replacement. Of course, this is all complicated by the fact that it's a 1/1.

A little humor here. If they did replace the 1/1 would it then become a 2/1. You would have the first ever numbered that way. Good luck with the replacement and let us know how you make out.

I sent out a damaged Subban Certified Potential Red Mirror when the product came out. The entire process was about two and a half months, but they took mine and from what they say on their site, destroyed it, then sent me a replacement with the exact same serial numbering.
I imagine the process may be a little different for auto or GU cards, but for damaged numbered cards this is the approach they've gone with. I didn't have a problem with it.
(Sorry that this reply is so late in regards to the thread, but figured the info would still be helpful)

I won a round of pack wars with Certified last November. Included in my winnings was a Roberto Luongo/Ryan Miller dual jersey numbered out of 250 with empty windows where the jersey swatches should have been.
On Friday, November 12 I opened a replacement request. On Monday, November 15 they responded with a list of items to send to them including a receipt of purchase and the empty wrapper. Since I had thrown out the receipt and package I asked if i would be able to still get a replacement without them. This was on Monday, November 29.
I had forgotten about the replacement until Wednesday, January 26 when I was entering a redemption code and saw the open case. I had not received a response so I sent another message asking for one. On Wednesday, February 2 I received my response which said to send the card with as much information as I could. They also informed me that I would received a couple of complementary packs for the wait and inconvenience.
I mailed the card to them and they received it on Saturday, March 12. They destroyed the card and made a new one with original number stamped. The sent out the cards on Monday, March 21 and provided me with a tracking number. I received the card this week along with one pack of Certified and Donruss.
While I had to wait for an answer to my question early, the replacement process was quite fast. They responded to my initial request the next business day and sent out the replacement within 6 business days of receiving my card.

My concern is that, since my card is autographed, it may not be so easy to replace. It's still a nice 1/1 even with the damage, I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth bothering.

I successfully replaced a pack damaged Brett Favre 2010 Elite Throwback Threads Jersey/Auto /10. The entire process took about 2 months, and went without issue.
