Nope never would even if 'everyone did it'
Everyone seems to have an iphone now or ipad, I don't its all personal preference..I'm not gonna give someone my credit card info that goes into their phones, thats just way to risky in my opinion..
besides, you'd get charged a fee to have some sort of 'machine' to process the credit card i'd assume which would mean either A) higher prices for the buyer or B) less profit for the sellerHidden Content

Did you say the same about Paypal? Everyone uses it but someone is almost always charged a fee for it. Would you be cool with it if i had a CC machine at the show? What if it was a laptop i processed the cards on instead of my phone.
If you never use cards anyways it wouldnt really matter but if I was one of the only ones at the show that could take cards I think it would give me a competitive advantage over many others at the show as nationally something like 80 percent of all sales are on credit cards or debit cards

Nope, Paypal is different, its essential to using ebay, you can't use ebay without using paypal. I guess I need to write it out alittle clearer. I don't do something or use something because its popular.
Its also not me using it on someone's phone where they can obtain all my personal info.
I wouldn't except paypal/credit cards at a show myself..i dont want to be paying a bunch of fees on cards when i can just get cash..its all a personal preference though.
It'd be easier for me as a buyer to go to the money machine rather than using my credit/debit card.

Who cares if anything is popular dan... I am simply asking if I had something would you use it. You obviously wouldnt so its cool... I honestly could care less if you would take CCs at a card show and never asked a single time your opinion on it. I am simply asking if I had a card reader at a card show would you present your little piece of plastic so I could run it through a card reader....
You really think it is easier to run to a money machine and pay 5-6 bucks to get a 20 out than someone run it through a machine for free?

After reading up...
It doesn't help Square's legitimacy that it has had more problems with hardware and infrastructure in the past, and that it doesn't do credit checks on new merchants. Just asking for problems with merchant fraud.
Square is simpler for really small businesses, but Intuit has better support and integration. I feel the fee war going on will result in Intuit coming out on top.
The mobile payments market is anything but entrenched, and consumers are rightfully wary of embracing the technology before the market earns legitimacy and reputation.

In my opinion, anyone who says they wouldn't use it even if it became popular is wrong. This is just my opinion, mind you. Unless you don't use PayPal or ever use your credit card to buy gas or groceries, then you think you wouldn't but you would.

I don't have an iTouch, a Kindle, an iPhone, a webcam, a Skype, etc. Those are the most popular things right now, and I don't really care about any of them.

I realize you didn't ask, I was simply saying as a buyer or seller I wouldn't. I have no idea how legit this 'Square' thing is, but i'm sure if it works functionally people would use it, I simply wouldnt. I'd rather pay the $3 service fee if the money machine is different from the bank I go to to pull a few hundred dollars out rather than be paranoid about running my card through a machine that operates through a cellphone. Thats all.
I'm more paranoid about these things than the average person, that may be why.
How could I be wrong, do you know me better than I know myself or something?
