Jersey Number Madness (Stamkos Cup RC Parallel)
For those sceptics who say a jersey numbered card isn't worth any extra premium or next to none, check out this ebay auction for the 08/09 Cup Stamkos gold parallel RC #91/91:
http://cgi.ebay.com/08-09-Cup-Steven...#ht_500wt_1156
Considering its one color patch, it went for at least 4 or 5 times the price of the other non-jersey numbered cards. The last two bidders put it up there but even before their involvement, it was at least twice or 3 times the going price for the same gold parallel RC. Wow.

Nice bit of coin there!
I've always said that it depends on the card, the player, and the set. A high-end player in a high-end set will always fetch a premium on sales.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I don't think that is a bad price at all. Stamkos is hot and that is likely his best rookie card despite the one color patch. The only other one that could compare is the 91/99 Cup Rookie. Obviously 2 people felt it was worth paying $4000 for it. Why do we criticize others for buying a card they want? Maybe they have lots of money and a $4000 dollar card to them is like a $20 card to us. Why bash them? I think it is great that the seller made good money, and that this sale could help Stamkos' other Cup rookies go up in value.
