"He Beat Him Like a Rented Mule" - Crown Royale Auto Inscriptions

I often LOL at the commentary, but this is just beyond cool:

    http://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2...-inscriptions/

There’s likely not a more distinctive voice in the NHL than the one belonging to legendary Pittsburgh Penguins announcer Mike Lange. His unique “Lange-isms” have regaled Pens fans for more than 30 years and are at least partially responsible for him receiving the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.
Luckily for collectors, Lange used a pen to lend his unparalleled pipes to the popular Voices of the Game insert in 2010-11 Crown Royale Hockey with some of the greatest inscriptions in trading card history.

As a result, collectors who’ve never experienced the listening pleasure of Lange’s work have gained a sincere appreciation for some of the most endearing catchphrases in sports media history — and for the man who utters them.
In all, the golden-throated Lange inked five of his trademark Lange-isms to cards that are as unique (each is a 1/1) as the potent quotables on them, highlighted by . . .
“He beat him like a rented mule!”
“Get in the fast lane gramma, the bingo game is ready to rock!”
“Let’s go hunt moose on a Harley!”
“Scratch my back with a hacksaw!”
“Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!”
In the telling gallery below, collectors can learn for themselves what Penguins fans have known for three decades: Lange is truly one of kind.

Very cool and hilarious! Darren Pang should have had ones that said "holy jumpin'" or "the ole forehand backhand"

Very cool. Not sure if that was a Panini idea, or a Mike Lange idea..... but certianly adds something extra to the cards. Wonder if there are any 'HOF' inscriptions out there ? (I think all of Bob Miller's were done that way).
