Uncle Sam is not too wound up about selling for cash on eBay like Revenue Canada is.
Let me give you an example on how tight the Canadian Government Instutions are:
When you ship goods to Canada, as Canadian residents we only get between $10-$20 Duty Free, anything over that, requires paying large duties. The figure in the USA is over $200.00. Americans get $250.00 free before they have to pay duty.
When you bring in booze to Canada, Canadians & guests only get 1 Bottle, In the USA Americans and guests entering, get 6 bottles before they have to pay duty.
If Revenue Canada is watching eBay for income from people that don't operate as a business, they need their head's read.

I believe Ebay was asked to submit records to the Canadian government regarding all power seller.

Wow..
I still have 9 years of Income Tax that I have not done back in Canada. They owe me money, so they can wait until I'm bloody well ready to submit. Revenue Canada can rot in H.E. Double Hockey Sticks.
They are the only thing in this living world that I have ever hated.

Looking how some small stories can become huge in the view of some person, for a "feedback dispute" on eBay, I can easily imagine a buyer reporting an individual/seller to Revenue Canada... can you imagine all the troubles for a single feedback story! People should play "low level" instead of making huge disputes based on nothing. We never know how some people can react.

And when the scammers hit, you can't warn anyone if you leave feedback right away. That's why I wait and if there's a chargeback leave feedback saying fast payment but filed chargeback xx days later. Ebay claims do nothing to prevent scammers, however, hopefully a message in their feedback can alert people.

I hear ya. In the US its not much better. I missed a zero or something one year and sent in payment $80 short. 10 months later I got a bill for $240. Thats %300 intrest in under a year. The mob can't even do that. I called them on it and they said I was wrong, its not inteerest, its FEES!
But you give them an interest free loan all year. Here we have 5 years to claim our dough or they keep it.
If any one wants to, buy a UD box for $200 and then sell the break for total of $30, this will offset your 'profits'

I will be nailed with penalties on penalties, but Revenue Canada has never jailed anyone in the history of it's existence for filing late. In the US you guys get jailed all the time for late filing. Lol
