The Flames recalled Greg Nemisz from the Abbotsford Heat, the team's top affiliate in the American Hockey League. Nemisz, who had been recalled earlier in the season but did not see action, is expected to play Wednesday at the HP Pavilion as the Flames continue their road trip with a game against the San Jose Sharks.
Nemisz, a former frist round pick of the Flames, is second in goals (14) and second in points (32) in 65 games with the Heat.
He has been playing both centre and wing this season in the AHL.
With the Flames down on centres, he may take some shifts down the middle against the Sharks. The Flames have used a number of different players on draws on this road trip, including Curtis Glencross.
Nemisz, a native of Courtice, Ontario, is playing in his first professional season. The 6’3”, 200 lbs forward was a member of the Canadian National Junior Team in 2010 capturing a silver medal at the World Junior Championships. He was also a member of back to back Memorial Cup Championships with the Windsor Spitfires in 2009 and 2010. He was the Flames 1st round pick (25th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Nemisz played with Lance Bouma, who is currently with the Flames, for much of the season in Abbotsford.
"He's a smart players. He knows the game well. We've had some chemistry together," said Bouma, who could end up being on a line with Nemisz on Wednesday.

Good to see the kid getting a brief opportunity late in the year to contribute to the Flames playoffs push. The last two years at the Memorial Cup the only name I've heard anywhere nearly as often as Taylor Hall has been Nemisz.
