Haven't had nearly that bad of luck myself honestly. I'd say only about 10-20% of those I've tried to deal with here have been troublesome.
Now as for a different site I also trade on, that place is terrible. Almost all high-end snobs and I dunno how many people I've messaged there and never received so much as a reply back from them even though I know they got the message. Ugh.Hidden Content (cards crossed out are pending arrival)

that won't won't help your trading out
I wouldn't say people are cheesballs...some may be "difficult" but by far that is the minority. I also have a fairly tough time trading for my low-end PC needs but really that is because I don't have anything else the other trader wants in return or they don't have anything I would want to add to the low stuff to make a bigger deal.
Kind of works both ways. I am not a Team base player (pretty specific player PC) so that makes it even tougher.
I do however agree that people should be a litle more open to the low-end deal...we are both paying about the same postage so the "will only trade for larger base/insert lots to make postage worthwhile" arguement burns my behind a bit...Last time I checked when shipping out a card (auto/gu over any amount) just in a bubble mailer with a stamp it was cheaper than shipping out 20 base due to the size/weight of the mailer. A card is a card is a card.
If someone really needs something and they don't have anything I need I will sometimes just ship it out...not like every low-end card is going to get me that Dipietro I have been looking for because not every trader has it (if that makes sense). I don't send everyone something they want for nothing tho' as I would go broke from postage

There's something that hasn't been addressed in this thread yet, and I think it has A LOT to do with the gradual reduction in lower-end trades... Canada Post's rates... which they seem to want to jack every year now. I live in the Toronto area, and I cannot send a bubble mailer to the US for less than $2.56. A bubble mailer to anywhere in Canada is now $1.25 before tax. And, that's IF the total weight is under 100g. If it's over that amount, usually a 6 card+ package, it's $2.00 in Canada, and over $4 to the US. That's freakin' expensive, IMHO.

What's more frustrating is people want something from you and then they ask you what you want for it, you tell them what you expect for it in return but no reply back at all. No msg saying "no thanks" "sorry but too much IMO" just no reply at all.
For me that's why I don't post too many lower end stuff because it always get low balled. I use beckett for bv and ebay for market selling value but most people have their cards valued higher for some reason? Plus with shipping costs nowadays sometimes trading one yg straight up almost works out to just buying the card alone anyways. At least this is my reasoning.

I'm in the process of completing a trade that has 40 low end cards, the biggest cards in this bunch are a Scratching the Surface Auto Weiss and a Downie YG from my end.
I'm trading for a a bunch of PC low enders, so, we're out here, people that will trade for low end cards and not worry to much about BV.
I've done a lot of trades when i know i'm over paying for the return, but thats ok. I'm not married to these cards, card board is card board, lol

I personally always thought that when people get upset doing a hobby they need to get out of it. I never make rant post or go crazy I just politely move on and find someone else to trade with.
There going always be folks you rather not deal with which is why you have a ignore feature. You can ignore all their posts on the boards, pm's, etc. It a hobby enjoy it and for those that get you UPSET avoid them. Even if it 50 percent there still literally 100's of folks here. Why not seek those out?
I think everyone who is trading for pc or set needs would be willing to give up more if someone is taking a bunch of tradebait or lower end cards to help someone obtain their goals. To me trading is a lot better than putting up the BIG Dollars as you say.
I know I won't trade high end for low end dollar for dollar wise unless we have done it before. Why, because when I am on the opposite side in the trade to do low cards for a high one it never ever comes about.
I dropped a pm to you and told you I send you some Patrick Roy cards for your cc. The cc you had would almost cover the postage. I never heard back from you via pm. Not sure if you ever remember me contacting you. As I had some guy send me some Roy's and would have loved to moved them.
As I said before it a hobby enjoy the 30 or 40 percent that are not cheeseballs.
That been mentioned in some threads as we all hate shelling out dollars. Of course if it helps us fulfill a need be it set, pc, etc. I think most will make small trades. We just won't do small trades for cards we do not have a use for. Which is what many folks who complain forget as I am sure many of them are the same one turning down trades from other members when they are small and do not benefit their pc, set, needs etc.
Thanks for posting at least someone has taken the time to work out a low end larger deal.

I know what you mean - trading cheap inserts for a bunch of base or a jersey for an autograph can be just as fun as receiving an autographed RC in the mail.

sign me up for this Andy!!! PLEASE!!!
Here is the big problem IMO. Hockey, unlike the other sports has a very high percentage of traders north of the border. Because of this, there are addition factors that need to be taken into account.
Trading between US to US members is generally not an issue. $2 to send from NY to California is not uncommon for a small deal and if it's a larger deal, the costs are still not horrid as we can ship a 550ct or 660ct box of commons and low end inserts for under $10.
Make that same deal with a Canadian, and your looking at this being doubled, if not more. And this is shipping from the US side.
CanadaPost is a whole other story. I'll let our Canadian friends speak to this.
