Wow not looking for a fight about it, just saying I would think it would go for way more and I wouldn't be happy if it went for so cheap. Lol anyways just seemed a little fishy to me. Sorry for giving my opinion!

not fishy, just interesting. I know a guy who had 21 of stamkos's ice card...would never have beleived it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

to each their own, if I had the money I would do it!

you've got nothing to appologize for - you think it looks odd, you're absolutly entitiled to that opinion, and no reason you shouldn't be sharing it.

I'd point out though that after his rookie season, that card could be had for $40-$60. There are nearly 1,000 copies of it, so it's not exactly 'rare' by modern standards. $200 may not be anywhere close to what a similar Crosby would sell for, but Stamkos is no-where near Crosby in terms of hobby appeal.

I haven't noticed Stamkos sales in a while - so I don't know what is typical for an auction price on those cards..... but I would imagine "low 200s" is pretty normal.

I would suspect this is indeed a case of hording, like the OP suggests. Someone likely bought them as an investment oppertunity when they could be had really cheap, and now flipped them for 4x what they paid. Two bidders wanted all four of them (for hording purposes, maybe a buy / sell deal, whatever their reasons) and the same two guys placed the same max bids on both.

Wow not looking for a fight about it, just saying I would think it would go for way more and I wouldn't be happy if it went for so cheap. Lol anyways just seemed a little fishy to me. Sorry for giving my opinion!

It is fishy because the card had been selling for less than $200 though.

The guy is buying high end cards. Ran into him again today on a purchase. He is buying from all sorts of buyers so just think he is filling up.

You are correct, their are BIN's out there for under $200.
