Great series, Habs. I was pulling for you guys. Though I must say, go B's against Philly. Good lord, I hate the Flyers.

Way to go, Montreal! You guys had a great season and will get 'em next time...but lose to my Wild in the finals...just sayin'. ;) But what a series played by Tim Thomas! He'll lead them to the conference finals at least, you mark my words! And that tying goal by P.K. will only add to what will soon become his legacy. What a game...what a series...what a year for playoff hockey!

I certainly understand friendly rivalries. Boston and Montreal used to have one, so did the Red Wings and the Blackhawks.

Now it seems that most rivalries are based on pure hate.

    Boston/Montreal
    Detroit/Chicago
    Detroit/Colorado
    Detroit/Anaheim
    Chicago/Vancouver
    Calgary/Edmonton
    Toronto/Ottawa
    San Jose/LA
    San Jose/Anaheim
    Anaheim/LA
Pittsburgh/Any Team they meet in the final, or any team that has Marian Hossa or Alex Ovechkin on it. Pens don't discriminate, they hate everyone equally.

Who would have ever thought that today, the friendliest rivalry in all of the NHL is probably the Leafs/Habs. Lol

Because it's not a rivalry. Rivalries are forged out of teams that regularly compete against one another in high-stakes affairs. There hasn't been a Montreal/Toronto rivalry since the 1960s. Ken Dryden said it best in 1983 when he said that the rivalry is dead because the Leafs killed it. Sure, the media and some fans (mostly on the Toronto side) like to pretend that there's still something there, but other than selling papers and television ratings there's really precious little to feud over.
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...
