I'm going to be a critic because I have always been told I have a great ear for music. No offense on any of this but it's just my opinion. I also understand the very rough versions.

    - This isn't the music but that album cover needs some work. If you need help there are plenty of people here on SCF, including myself, that would help with the graphic work.

-Children Sing- I can't understand the children singing. Am I hard of hearing or is that a different language? The beat needs some work when you transition to the children singing again. It needs a hook, the children singing don't do it, especially when you can't understand them. Halfway through the children singing just restarts again out of nowhere. No transitioning beats, it sounds horrible like that. The raps aren't bad, but the tone of voice you use at the end of your bars doesn't sound right with the beats. You would often say words with your tone going up instead of going down to match the beat. That's just inexperience in my opinion and something you'll learn.

-Good Morning- Beginning, too long of a pause between verses. It sounds like you are trying too hard to rap to the beat and you need to let it flow more. I actually like the beat to this song, it's different. Cut the piano solo out of it though. It's too much to listen to and sounds jumbled. Again, needs a hook. I can see a choir singing a hook to this song and it would sound great.

-What You've Been Missing- The best sounding of these songs I've listened to. You sound like you are actually flowing nicely and the raps are solid. A solid hook could make this song the hit of your mix-tape. Love the beat. I really don't have anything bad to say about this song. Don't change it or tinker it too much.

I'll have to listen to these over the weekend and get back to you. I agree about the album cover as well. It needs some work. I'm not sure of the concept or the connection to the anchor, not have a I heard the songs, but on looks alone it does nothing to convey rap. To be honest by looking at it and knowing it is a CD cover I'd guess it's more of an album of nautical themed music with the anchor and stars. I'd say you need a much more dynamic album cover thats also much more modern and edgy.

I am with the others on the album cover. If the album is titled "This Is Me" then shouldn't you be on the cover? Just a thought. Maybe find someone that knows how to use a camera (adjust exposure, filters, understands lighting for effect, etc.) and have them take a few pics of you in an average everyday life setting. No posed pics, something that is really you being you.

While I think the concept should be something about himself, I don't think it has to be a photo of him. It could be a bit more conceptual and focus on something that's a major aspect of his life. Either way I think you need a much more cutting edge cover design.

For the record, I knew the meaning behind the cover. I'm from CT originally so I knew it was the RI flag (been there many times, PVD, Misquamicut, Freeport, etc.) I just think you could use the flag take in a better, more eye-catching manner. The reasoning is before they hear the music they see the album cover. First impressions are everything, you know?

Good luck getting your name outside RI though. People still haven't heard of Apathy, Demigodz, Celph Titled or Paper Boyz. All some of the best rappers to come out of Connecticut. (Just to state it, this kid I used to play ball with back in middle/high school is signed with Paper Boyz, Joen. Check out some of his music. -cheap plug for him-)

I know who Apathy, Demigodz, and Celph Titled are. It's just a shame how more people know who the New Boyz and Soulja Boy are, as opposed to knowing real hip hop artists.
